Megaconference Jr. is the world’s first all virtual K12 videoconference event over Internet2 and highspeed networks around the world. Learn about how you can view the live web stream, be involved as an interactive participant, and even design and propose a videoconferencebased presentation and activity focused on academic and cultural issues to help build international cultural awareness for your students.

Megaconference Jr. 2008


Our students participated in Megaconference Jr. 2008. Their presentation, Math Connections: Here, There, and Everywhere, showed how math is found and used in the real world. Students presented their Math in the Real World Show to a global audience. Take a look at segments of the show which students created and shared with the world.

· Receive copy of proposal
· Email and Skype connect with lead person of proposal to discuss project components

January
· Megaconference Jr. proposal is accepted
· Schedule videoconference with technology team
· Register as an interactive participant in Megaconference Jr.
· Technology team makes test connection
· Begin instructional lesson portion of project with first grade class and GIEP students

February
· Continue with instructional lesson portion of project with first grade class and GIEP students
· Receive list of questions about families from partner class
· Share our list of questions about families with partner class
· Send request for Faraway Families to whole school
· Email/call local contacts from Faraway Families request responses
· Connect with Faraway Families through email and Skype
· Organize and schedule a presentation to the class by a parent from Hungary
